Bootie celebrates the odd mess that was the last decade -- with world-changing things like iPods, smart phones and American Idol; from the demise of the boy bands to their return; to child stars like Britney and Lindsay turning into adult messes -- it's '00s Mashup Night: T'00 S'00n? With the top of the music charts alternating between Beyoncé and M.I.A., Eminem and White Stripes, Outkast and Amy Winehouse, it was a decade of contrasts -- and Bootie DJs Adrian A
, and Jimi G
will mash up the best '00s songs all night long!
Taking the stage at 11 PM for a special '00s rock mashup set will be Bootie's own house band Smash-Up Derby
, while drag hosts Qween
and Johnny Rockitt
perform the Midnight Mashup Show. Upstairs in the Lounge, it's Party Killers, with Party Ben
, as the pair throw down house remixes and more to make you dance, while in Above, Gaslight Mafia manipulates classic swing and jazz with modern sounds, and Post Cliché takes over the Dazzle Room, keeping you moving on the dance floor! Plus club photographer ShutterSlut
capturing the fun, and FREE Bootie mashup CDs to the first 100 people!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-new bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities across the globe. Winning various nightlife awards for the past 13 years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations that provide the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
