Performing Live:

Unlike many of the popular bands from the 1990s, Dope derived their "Nu-Metal" sound from such strange bedfellows as the heavy metal bands of the 80s. And managed to fuse them with the sound of industrial acts who had made waves earlier in their decade, such as Ministry and Skinny Puppy. Dope have been described as alternative metal, speed metal, nu metal and industrial metal and Dope's lyrics are known for being honest to the point of being labeled obscene and too aggressive as well as possessing a penchant of not shying away from "drug" culture. Their unbiased honesty and melodic sensibilities matched by their ominous sound provide an intriguing soundtrack to a heavy night out.
