Seattle's one-man futurepop/electronic body music project. Tom Shear (aka Assemblage 23
) got his start when he heard a dj playing industrial music at a Depeche Mode Music For The Masses concert in 1988. Hearing Industrial music for the first time proved to be something of an epiphany for Shear as he had finally found a form of music that combined the electronic sounds he loved from his synth-pop background with the heavier, menacing and darker aggression that punk represented. Live, he has assembled the perfect molotov cocktail of all these influences that launches the audience into a dance-floor filling frenzy.
It is with much regret that we must let you know that In Letter Form
will not be playing, as one of their members died a few days ago:
"As many of you might have already heard, Eric Miranda passed away today. We have lost a great musician, brother, friend, and generous soul. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, and all the fans whom he loved very much. We will miss you." -ILF: James, Pete, Andres & Dennis
In honor of his memory The Ink Bats
will be playing for them, with maybe a song or two of theirs in tribute.
