Having dropped five genre-defining albums, The Black Dahlia Murder
have made it impossible to discuss melodic death metal without mention of their name. They are among the highest regarded American death metal bands. They are an inter-dimensional blast-fest that evokes both potent melancholia and icy unease, tragedy and apocalyptic gloom that creeps and insinuates itself into clever song-craft alongside all out fury. While they boast a strong and great variety of dark and atmospheric moods the band generally sound pissed of most of the time and what is there not to love about that?
