Bootie is proud to present special guest DJ
Rhythm Scholar, direct from Chicago. His unique mashup and remix sets are infused with his signature brand of funk and disco, sure to keep you on the dance floor! Joining him in the Main Room will be resident DJs
A Plus D, as they keep the floor bumping with the best mashups in the universe!
At 11 PM, Cookie Dough's Monster Drag Show takes the stage with her carnival of drag queens. Cookie Dough has been one of the most beloved queens in San Francisco for years, and is the drag mother for what sometimes seems like half of the city's queens. She has raised tens of thousands of dollars for others in need, and now we're helping to do the same for her. Unfortunately, she is currently in serious condition in a coma, and tonight's Bootie with the Monster Drag Show will be a benefit for Cookie Dough and her husband
DJ MC2, with a portion of the door going to help cover their medical expenses during this difficult time. Cookie would want nothing more than the show to go on, so we shall send all our celebratory vibes to her bed, helping to lift her spirit!
Upstairs in Above, the Go Bang's
Steve Fabus take over with the Monster-Electro House Party, sure to keep your feet moving. In the Lounge, it's Retro Remix, as DJ
Tripp and
David X give classic songs a modern makeover. And finally, in the Dazzle Room, it's Old School Bootie, as Bootie DJs
Matt Hite and
Jay-R bring back the sound of Bootie's early Cherry Bar days, playing all the great mashups from "back in the day!" All this, plus club photographer
ShutterSlut there to document the madness, and FREE Bootie CDs to the first 100 people through the door!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past nine years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party, it's a place where everyone is welcome. And with free mashup CDs given away like candy, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
