To celebrate the Bootie 8-Year Anniversary, the party's creators and resident DJs Adrian & Mysterious D present "The A+D Show 3: This Time It's Personal." After a three-year hiatus, the duo's epic multimedia mashup extravaganza returns, combining a traditional DJ set with live singers, dance performances, mashup videos, go-go dancers, an audience sing-along, and tons of balloons and confetti! The performers in the show are a veritable "who's who" from the SF underground, including singers
Trixxie Carr,
Honey Mahogany, and
Virginia Suicide.
At 11 PM, Bootie's house band
Smash-Up Derby presents "Mashup History 101," as the band traces the chronology of some of the scene's most iconic tracks, from 2002's seminal "A Stroke of Genie-us" to the multiple mashed-up versions of "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
Also spinning will be an all-star team of Bootie Mashup's best DJs, including DJ Tripp and
Dada on the main floor and DJs Mykill, Mad Murdock, and
John!John! in the upstairs room. Last but not least, there will be FREE Bootie 8-Year Anniversary CDs for the first 500 people!
Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by
A Plus D -- aka DJs Adrian & Mysterious D -- Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past six years, Bootie keeps your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party. Providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- and free mashup CDs given away like candy -- it's a place where everyone is welcome.
