Hailing from Seattle, Victor Menegaux
has carved out his own unique sound in the mashup world, with genre-clashing/music-bending sets of alt-rock, electro, pop and retro. Producing tracks not just from himself, but for other DJs as well, he is currently a Top 3 artist on the West Coast-based mashup site StrictlyHits.com, and submits weekly tracks to DMS, one of the nation's premier DJ record pools.
At 11 PM, Bootie's own house band Smash-Up Derby
takes the stage with a set of live rock mashups, and for the Midnight Mashup Show, Genie Cartier
makes her Bootie debut above the crowd with an aerialist silk act. And in the upstairs room, the Squrrrl DJs return! With host Danyol and DJs Ben Holder, Bill Dupp and Papa Tony, expect a nutty night of house, electro, and breaks, with plenty of funk in-between.
Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by A Plus D
-- aka DJs Adrian & Mysterious D -- Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past six years, Bootie keeps your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party. Providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- and free mashup CDs given away like candy -- it's a place where everyone is welcome.
