Wherein there's something about dead stiff squirrels.
We are happy to announce that as of Monday, October 27, Death Guild, the world's longest-running goth/industrial club, will be moving to DNA Lounge! Every Monday, 18+!
Technically, Death Guild is returning to DNA Lounge, as DNA was it's second venue: DG started in March 1993 at The Pit (now Asia SF), did one week at DNA in June 1994, and then moved to The Trocadero (now Glas Kat).
BEST. FUCKING. *EVER*
Now MEAT and Death Guild will be truly indistinguishable.
What about MEAT vs. Death Guild? That will be even more confusing.
As much as I love the DNA Lounge, I'm not sure how I feel about this. Having a change of scenery was nice. Some weeks like this one I'm already at the DNA three or four nights.
Wow, it's all officially happening and stuff now!
Is Deathguild really the worlds longest running goth club?
heh.
I think so -- 15½ years.
Wow. I thought maybe one of the london clubs would be.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slimelight is over 20 years old apparently.
Huh. I thought Slimelight ended a few years ago. Didn't know it was still a going concern.
Nocturna in Chicago has been going for over 20 years, although it's not quite what it once was.
Also Nocturna is monthly rather than weekly as DG.
Well, it WAS weekly for the longest time, until the promoter moved to Berlin. That's kind of what I meant by it not being what it once was.
IIRC passport in Monteal had been running for over 20 years when I visited a couple years ago but I don't think they're claiming they're the oldest.
*shrug*
Who said DG was at the DNA in '94? I think that's wrong. I started working there in June '94 - I worked one week at 9th & Howard (The Underground), we had a week off, then moved to the Troc. I never spun for DG at the DNA.
Direct from the mouth of David...
