RE: Public Need and Convenience - 375 Eleventh Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
Dear Mr. Glen,
You are currently reviewing our application for a type-47 license for DNA Lounge located at 375 Eleventh Street in San Francisco. DNA Lounge is located in the strip of 11th Street that has the highest concentration of entertainment venues in San Francisco. The venue has been in continuous operation since 1977 making it one of San Francisco~s longest running entertainment venues. When DNA Lounge was purchased by Sensoria, LLC in 1999, we undertook an extensive soundproofing project that with professional operation has allowed us to maintain a great relationship with neighbors and the police department, as evidenced by our letters of support. As you understand, we wish to transform from a DJ oriented entertainment venue into a mixed use venue also featuring live music shows that are historically presented in an all age format, similar to the Warfield, The Fillmore, Slims, Great American Music Hall and other San Francisco live music venues. We are asking for the same type 47 liquor license as these other live music venues.
In recent years the entertainment culture has been evolving back towards its historic live music roots, thus there is a need for another premier live music venue in San Francisco. Thus, allowing this license to issue to our location at 375 Eleventh Street, San Francisco will serve the public convenience and necessity of the people of the City and County of San Francisco.
Thank you for your consideration.
