It seems like everyone loves celebrating their birthday at Bootie SF, but no one more than Bootie co-creator and resident DJ Mysterious D
, who will be doing a special prime-time B-day set! She's even hand-picked all the DJs and talent for the night, including San Francisco's own queer electro-hop duo Double Duchess
, who perform live at 11 PM.
With big beats and playful narratives, Double Duchess transcends genres and genders through its live experience and high-energy delivery. Krylon Superstar's mesmerizing voice and performance art genius, coupled with davO's emceeing and production deftness, delivers a raw and campy electronic sound. Double Duchess' musical influences include Baltimore club, booty breaks, and ballroom house, all wrapped in a world of couture fashion.
Helping to hold down the Main Room will be Adrian
, serving up birthday Bootie madness, while upstairs, Brass Tax takes over the Lounge, bringing their signature delirious sound that continues to tear the roof off at their monthly rager in the Mission. And finally, DJ Keith Kraft
brings SEX! to the Dazzle Room, filling it with that sexy electo-house you love!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie SF was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past eight years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party, it's a place where everyone is welcome. And with free mashup CDs given away like candy, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
