Bootie SF pays tribute to the original Studio 54 with ... Bootie-O 54! In the spirit of the infamous disco-era New York City nightclub, the evening promises to be pure mashed-up disco decadence! Dress up to look fabulous, because club founders and DJs Adrian & Mysterious D will each be doing their best Steve Rubell imitation, picking people out of line to come in to the club for FREE!
At 11 PM, Hubba Hubba Revue presents a disco mashup show, featuring some of San Francisco's best burlesque acts performing as Studio 54 luminaries, including
The Indra as "Disco Granny," Kingfish as Steve Rubell, and many others. In the upstairs room, it's notorious LA club night Full Frontal Disco with
Slash Fiction, the DJ-slash-remix duo of Henry Self and Mick DiMaria, who will be spinning disco in its myriad mutations, both classic and contemporary.
On the main floor,
A Plus D will be joined by guest
DJ Jay-R, spinning disco mashups throughout the night. And finally, as a souvenir of the night, there will be free giveaways of a limited-edition Bootie-O 54 CD, featuring Bootie's best disco mashups!
Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by A Plus D -- aka DJs Adrian & Mysterious D -- Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past six years, Bootie keeps your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party. Providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- and free mashup CDs given away like candy -- it's a place where everyone is welcome.
