4 big years ago, Bearracuda set up shop in a Tenderloin piano bar with carpeted floors and pre-civil war CD players. At the end of 2010, Bearracuda will have been in 10 cities in the U.S. and across the pond! Thanks so much to all that have supported us!

Kicking off the evening at 9pm is DJ boyshapedbox. Boyshapedbox has filled our dance floor so many times in SF, Portland, Seattle, New Orleans and he'll be coming with us to Atlanta in October. Joining boyshapedbox is Bearracuda favorite, Rotten Robbie! He has been spinning for the past 20+ years and has shared the bill with many world class acts, such as Village People, Sister Sledge, RuPaul, Martha Wash, Thelma Houston and Dionne Warwick.

Upstairs at DNA we're bringing back one of the funnest nights that happened at Bearracuda this year: Bears Love HNY! The guys at Honey Soundsystem are transforming upstairs into to their own furry den of sweet beats. Dee Jay Pee Play, Ken Vulsion and the rest of the Honey crew start spinning upstairs at 11pm.

Free limited-edition, 20-track Bootie SF 7-Year Anniversary CD to the first 500 people!
The biggest bootleg mashup party in the world marks its 7-Year Itch Anniversary with a jam-packed evening celebrating the past seven years of mashup culture. Direct from England, Bootie is proud to present Go Home Productions, aka Mark Vidler, one of the world's most legendary mashup producers. Since 2002, he's made countless mashups, including the landmark "Rapture Riders," The Doors vs. Blondie classic which went legit with a legally-sanctioned release. He's also officially mashed-up and remixed tracks for David Bowie, Alicia Keys, and Bob Dylan, among others, and was the producer of EMI UK's "Mashed" album in 2007, still the only legal mashup compilation released by a major label.

At 11 PM, Bootie's house band Smash-Up Derby plays live their favorite mashups from each of the past seven years, while resident DJs Adrian & Mysterious D spin a mashup history lesson that you can dance to! Bootie's original performer, Princess Kennedy, recreates our very first Midnight Mashup Show from seven years ago, while in the upstairs room, it's Electro-Bootie, with DJ MC2 and Boyshapedbox spinning electro bootlegs, remixes, and covers, complete with their own lasers and lighting. Providing the eye candy on the go-go boxes will be John!John!'s Mutants. We'll be giving out birthday cupcakes and milkshakes, and a couple samples of the brand-new Bootie T-shirts. And finally, we've got free Bootie 7-Year Anniversary CDs for the first 500 people!

Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by DJs Adrian & Mysterious D, Bootie was the first club night in the United States dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, Bootie mixes and matches every conceivable musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party where everyone feels welcome, providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation ... and free mashup CDs, given away like candy!

Super Happy Funtime is the Midwest's only sexy musical comedy theatre. Imagine Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Saturday Night Live with a live band. Each show is a unique mix of exciting and daring performances, hosted by an emcee you can't take your eyes off. Sexy and cute dancers perform thematic stripteases. There is naughty comedy and scathing satire. The shows also include magicians, circus performers, and smoking music by The End Times Orchestra.

Boasting a 7 piece oddball orchestra to supplement the striptease and a high emphasis on original music, comedy, and avant performance art, SHFB is one of the more unique variety show acts to come around. Think Benny Hill had he been offered the starring role in Rocky Horror and you might be on the right track, if Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof had a favorite act this would be it. SHFB has had its share of notable collaborations, including Richard Elfman, Just Larry (Ringling Bros. Circus' head clown), World Famous Brett (Cirque du Soleil), director and Magazine photographer Erik Voake, Hustler cartoonist John Bilette, Bobby Conn, Buckwheat Zydeco, Detholz, and Man Man's Chang Wang.

Trannyshack continues its series of superstar tributes, this time honoring someone whose individuality, eccentricity, and vision has been immeasurably inspirational... Björk! Perhaps no other female performer's music has been so rich with performance potential. Björk's best songs (Hunter, Hyperballad, Joga, Bachelorette, etc.) are sweeping masterpieces of surrealist imagery.

While some are tempted to marginalize her, no one can deny her talent. Possessed with that voice, that sense of style, and an intelligence beyond that of mere mortals, Björk is a Trannyshack icon of the highest order.

Chip music is music written in sound formats where all the sounds are synthesized in real time by a computer or video game console sound chip, instead of using sample-based synthesis. The "golden age" of chip music was the mid-1980s to early 1990s, when such sound chips were the most common method for creating music on computers. Chip music is closely related to video game music, which often featured chip music out of necessity. The term has also been applied to more recent compositions that attempt to recreate the chip music sound, albeit with more complex technology.
