New Year Eve: Amateur Night... While the neophytes suffer through their annual hangovers, the true party professionals will be out tearing up the dance floor at San Francisco's finest darker dance event. Start your year off right with us.

Meat represents more than seven years of stompy dance music and tasty BBQ. Death Guild is the second-oldest weekly goth/industrial club in the world, clocking in at more than sixteen years. They battle it out in an abattoir-themed environment with costumed blood-splattered go-go dancers, video, and free fresh BBQ meat. The Dose Lounge brings in several DJs from Opulent Temple spinning breaks. Regardless of who prevails in the battle, the dancefloor always wins!

Saint Vitus are a highly influential American doom metal band from Los Angeles. They have been regarded as one of the first bands of the genre, starting out as early as the late 1970s, along with Pentagram and Trouble. For most of their career, the band comprised vocalist Scott "Wino" Weinrich, bassist Mark Adams, guitarist Dave Chandler and drummer Armando Acosta. After breaking up in 1996, Saint Vitus briefly reunited for a tour in 2003, and are back together again as of 2008 with Henry Vasquez of the band Blood of the Sun on drums.

This day will mark the reopening of DNA Lounge after its 25 day closure by the ABC. The martyr Saint Vitus is especially relevant for this celebration being the patron saint of dancers and entertainers. Saint Vitus was said to have been thrown into a cauldron of boiling tar and lead, but escaped unscathed. DNA Lounge has emerged from its fight with the ABC also relatively unscathed, if you don't count the lost revenues and $140,000 in legal fees. Is DNA Lounge also a martyr to be venerated?
