Marduk is a black metal band from Norrköping, Sweden, formed in 1991 by Morgan Steinmeyer Hâkansson in order to form the "most blasphemous band in the world". Their name is derived from Babylonian god who created the earth and sky from the body of the great dragon Tiamat. Their musical style was that of a straight-forward death metal influenced take on black metal music, but as the years progressed their style and imagery became more of a fast and intense form of black metal. The band has not played San Francisco since 2001 and due to visa issues, was forced top cancel their tour with Mayhem earlier this year. Their appearance is highly anticipated.

It's the return of Trannyshack's Annual Star Search competition where (practically) virgin drag queens perform for a title that's grown to become very important in the world of San Francisco Drag. The upcoming event marks the eleventh annual Trannyshack Star Search, and it promises to be the biggest and fiercest competition yet.

Hostesses Heklina and Peaches Christ created the event to be a local talent search for new drag superstars. Over the years many of the event's past contestants have gone on to become significant performers on the local drag circuit including Metal Patricia, Holy McGrail, Pollo Del Mar, Rayza Burn, Anjie Myma, and many more. Witness a brand new crop of fresh-faced contestants compete for the Miss Star Search crown and be there to say "I saw her first".

Trannyshack, SF's infamous drag performance nightclub, has been shocking and delighting packed audiences for over twelve years. Defying all expectations, Trannyshack incorporates everything from low brow trash to high brow performance art, and became famous (or infamous) worldwide as the quintessential SF experience. No visit to the City is complete without a stop at Trannyshack.

The club has been featured in Out (which named it one of the top ten reasons to move to SF), Genre, Instinct, and Paper magazines, has won numerous Best of the Bay awards, and was filmed for an independent feature length documentary ("Filthy Gorgeous: The Trannyshack Story").

Trannyshack is now branching out it's empire, with shows in LA, London, Waikiki, Seattle, Portland, New Orleans, and Reno enjoying great success.
