This will be the first Bay Area appearance of Possessed in fifteen years!

In 1983 Possessed took San Francisco's metal scene by storm, playing out with fellow Bay Area thrashers Exodus and other bands many now long gone. Combat Records signed Possessed in 1985, and the band spent the school Easter break recording the heaviest, fastest, most evil piece of metal ever to be carved into vinyl grooves - Seven Churches. This is the album that set the standard for death metal. Released in October of 1985, it was light-years ahead of its time. Not since 1993 has Possessed returned to the live stage in the Bay Area when they opened a few shows for Machine Head. In 2007, it was announced Jeff Becerra would be performing under the "Possessed" name and would be backed by all members of 'Sadistic Intent'.

Venetian Snares will be performing live and djing, this being the 1st live Venetian Snares tour ever! Venetian Snares is the main performing alias of Canadian electronic musician Aaron Funk. From Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Funk is known for making electronic music often in odd numbered time signatures (mostly 7/4). His style has been critically acclaimed, notably by the late British radio disc jockey John Peel. Venetian Snares is said to have reinvented breakcore and set the stage for many other artists such as UndaCova, Xanopticon, Enduser and Datach'i. In a February 2003 interview, Funk was asked a question regarding the diverse mix of genres he draws upon in his music, a property which the interviewer labelled "eclecticism". Funk replied: "I prefer to call it Surrealism."

Volume will be worshipped!

"BrokeNCYDE might only have a few years of crunkcore under their belts, but they've already generated more controversy and venom than most bands will receive over their entire careers.

Unimpressed by their unique blend of crunk and screamo and lyrics like 'You make my peepee hard' and 'Eenie meenie miny moe / So much bitches at our shows,' critics have called them everything from 'fucking horrendous' (Metal Edge) to 'a near perfect snapshot of everything that's shit about this point in the culture' (Warren Ellis).

It's almost impossible to exaggerate the level of antipathy that Se7en (vocals), Mikl (vocals), Phat J (synths, guitars) and Antz ('fog machine and lights') have generated in their young lives."

SFO plays a blend of hard rock and funk with splashes of jazz, metal, ska, and slap guitar. Big influences are Primus, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, the Police, and King Crimson, just to name a few. Songs range from funky and danceable one track to heavy, rocking and driving the next. Songs like "The Way" blend a rocking intro with heavy slap-bass coupled by a lyrical vocal flow, while "Black & Blue" captures a laid-back leisurely groove with a heavy and melodic chorus. "Break Me", one of SFO's heaviest numbers, spotlights the incredible and almost unbelievable finger prowess of Mike Sopko, allowing him live to traverse an intense musical journey that sets the audience's heart racing and is never the same twice. Bassist Ethan Rider's driving funk and jazzy lines, "Infamous" Dave Jones pounding and original rhythms, and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jym Murry's slap-guitar antics and interesting vocal stylings make this band one of the newest Bay Area sensations and acts not to be missed! Also appearing tonight will be Sam Johnson from local bands Paradise and Handsome Rovers to make this show extra memorable...

Since winning the Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands Finals in June 2009, the Cleveland-based company is headlining SFO for this 10 band, all-ages showcase. Nuck Fu, the funky/rockin' highschoolers from Berkeley co-headline the night, and this will apparently be their last and farewell show as "Nuck Fu"... Hope to see everyone out for this incredible gathering of local talent!
