DJ Rob Metal

What kind of introduction could possibly do justice to the most influential grindcore / death metal band of all time? Repulsion is the band that introduced the world to insane blasting drums, bone jarring distorted bass, and the most vile lyrics imaginable.

Repulsion formed in 1985 under the name Genocide in Flint, Michigan. Originally influenced by bands such as Discharge, Celtic Frost / Hellhammer and NWOBHM music, the classic line up of Scott Carlson (vocals, bass), Aaron Freeman (guitar), Matt Olivo (guitar) and Dave Grave (drums) recorded the legendary Stench of Burning Death demo in January, 1986. Released to a tremendous response, Stench of Burning Death quickly spread throughout the underground, and helped gain Genocide / Repulsion a static following of fans of intense music with horror-inspired lyrics, a sub-genre of underground music that was still in its infancy. It was this foundation that ultimately became the basis of what is reknowned today as "grindcore". In every respect, Genocide were among the first wave true pioneers of this style of music, if not the innovators.

"Dollar for dollar, the best party on Folsom Weekend"

That's what we heard after last year's Magnum and we (although slightly biased) agree! This year's Folsom bash is bigger and better than ever. We are going to be THE place to kick off Folsom Weekend!

In the main room is Magnum with DJ Boyshapedbox and very special guest DJ: Francisco Guerra. Francisco has had an amazing year, which began with headlining our Sold Out New Year's Eve bash. From there he played Bearcelona in Spain for the 2nd time; spun at Gay Days Orlando as well as the NYC Pride Parade. We are so, so excited to have him back in San Francisco for Folsom.

Upstairs is the Bearracuda room with Seattle's party cub: Freddy, King of Pants, playing with our upstairs headliner: ROTTEN ROBBIE. Robbie has been playing in the bay area for 20+ years and has been at the helm of our all-time busiest nights.

Brand new this year is an early evening showcase of some of our favorite talents in the Bay Area. Before the dance floor gets packed, we bring you fantastic sets by Pinky Swear and Ejector!

This will be our last Magnum of the year and our biggest one yet, don't miss it!

Submerged in the most polluted city of the world, where violence is routine and where human relationships become more and more distant, Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam incited to express their feelings through the technology given to the influence of varying currents of electronic music mainly by Skinny Puppy they began their trajectory in 1989 in a called project "Ninera Degenerada" with some friends. Things were changing and in 1992 they were forming the concept of what any day seriously would be Hocico.
