New Wave City is the first & foremost 80s dance party, devoted to the best in alternative dance music from the New Wave era of the late 70s and early 80s. Each event features a tribute to one of the seminal acts of the period. You'll hear songs from the featured artist throughout the evening as well as the rest of the best of New Wave.

Bootie presents the world's first Mashup Karaoke! Hailing from LA, DJ Fnord and KJ Kollider are revolutionaries of the underground D.I.Y. karaoke scene, creating custom karaoke tracks and videos, including mashups! Starting at 11:30 PM -- right after house band Smash-Up Derby's "Tribute to Michael Jackson" -- they'll turn the upstairs lounge into Bootie's first karaoke bar! At 1 AM in the main room, DJ Fox celebrates his birthday with a special late-night set. DJ Boyshapedbox spins in both rooms, and for the Midnight Mashup Show, Bootie is proud to present the return of The Cheese Puffs, the world's first Richard Cheese-inspired burlesque troupe.

Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by DJs Adrian & The Mysterious D, Bootie was the first club night in the United States dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with monthly parties in eight cities on three continents. Each battle will consist of approximately 8 bands, each playing a 30 minute set.

The winner of each show will advance to the finals. The winner of the finals will receive $500 in cash, 20 hours of studio time, a submission to one of the following labels: Warner Bros., Rotten, Geffen, Prosthetic, Metal Blade, Universal, or Columbia. The band will also receive a headlining gig at the featured concert club.

Judging will be based on audience response/applause at the end of the show. Note: The more people you bring, the better your chances of winning. Don't forget to tell your fans to stick around until the end of the show.

Katchafire music is mostly reggae mixed with traditional Maori music of New Zealand. The eight-piece touring band plays to sell-out crowds across their county. Their debut album, "Revival" went double platinum with the biggest selling single of 2002: "Giddy-up".

Their sound is very reminiscent of the great reggae band Third World and to a lesser extent Aswad and Steel Pulse. Their performances at home often morph into sing-a-long affairs.

Meat represents more than seven years of stompy dance music and tasty BBQ. Death Guild is the second-oldest weekly goth/industrial club in the world, clocking in at more than sixteen years. They battle it out in an abattoir-themed environment with costumed blood-splattered go-go dancers, video, and free fresh BBQ meat. The Dose Lounge brings in several DJs from Opulent Temple spinning breaks. Regardless of who prevails in the battle, the dancefloor always wins!
