"Formerly compared with bands like Frontline Assembly, Wumpscut or Leaether Strip, they now represent a style of music that influences many young artists in their musical development. "A distinctive theme is present in the band's work and stage presence; both their musicianship and their costuming are strongly reminiscent of military music and dress. This military aesthetic is also popular with the band's fanbase. However, the political stance of Funker Vogt is decidedly anti-war; the band cites "war and social injustice" as their primary topics of discussion, noting that the goal of the album Execution Tracks, along with the accompanying video, was to 'present the grotesque cruelties and the tragedy of war.'"

Visuals from Altered Images include vintage video, 80s movies and TV, slide shows of 80s icons, posters and club flyers from 1979-1984, and original concert photos.

The winner of each show will advance to the finals. The winner of the finals will receive $500 in cash, 20 hours of studio time, a submission to one of the following labels: Warner Bros., Rotten, Geffen, Prosthetic, Metal Blade, Universal, or Columbia. The band will also receive a headlining gig at the featured concert club.

Judging will be based on audience response/applause at the end of the show. Note: The more people you bring, the better your chances of winning. Don't forget to tell your fans to stick around until the end of the show.
