Death Guild presents FUNKER VOGT |
Performing live: With DJ: |
"Funker Vogt, for over a decade now this name echoes like a
steamhammer through the worldwide community of Body Beat
Enthusiastics. "Formerly compared with bands like Frontline Assembly, Wumpscut or Leaether Strip, they now represent a style of music that influences many young artists in their musical development. With their distinctive mixture of abrasive electronic beats and tuneful, hymnal refrains they always show anew that the name stands for itself. "A distinctive theme is present in the band's work and stage presence; both their musicianship and their costuming are strongly reminiscent of military music and dress. This military aesthetic is also popular with the band's fanbase. However, the political stance of Funker Vogt is decidedly anti-war; the band cites "war and social injustice" as their primary topics of discussion, noting that the goal of the album Execution Tracks, along with the accompanying video, was to 'present the grotesque cruelties and the tragedy of war.'" |

They battle it out in an abattoir-themed environment with costumed blood-splattered go-go dancers, video, and free fresh BBQ meat. Death Guild &
DNA Lounge present BABYLAND |
Performing live: Babyland With DJs: |
Babyland embodies the integration of electronic music with the
direct approach of hardcore and the intensity of junk noise.
Compositions are conceptually based on the extreme emotional
elements of humankind as reflected in our continual evolution
and search for meaning within our own existence. Throughout the years, elements of synth pop, hardcore punk rock, new wave, techno, drum & bass and noise have all fallen prey to Babyland's continual experimentation. They utilize machinery twisted through misuse and human error to aggressively address the audience with empathy and concern; The electronic elements and primitive rhythmic base of the music provides an intense clarity and opposition to the resulting confusion and noise. The stronghold of Babyland's existence has always been intense live performances which confront audiences with an honest celebration of extreme energy, harsh sonic and visual elements, and experimental destruction. In other words, they take themselves way too seriously. |
