Rebelution first united in Santa Barbara, California, built from a wide array of musical backgrounds. With Reggae as the focus, the group set out to create a fresh and vibrant sound which they dub California Reggae. The band released their highly anticipated full-length album in June of 2007 and just weeks after its release, "Courage to Grow" became one of the most downloaded Reggae albums on iTunes. By the end of the year, it had been awarded the iTunes Editors Choice: Best Reggae Album 2007. "Apparently, California Reggae is hot. Stemming from a foundation of local support, Rebelution soared into iTunes Reggae Top 10 (album downloads), amongst some lofty company. Lofty like Bob, Stephen, and Damian Marley."

This is also DNA Lounge's first ever all-ages event!

Though they were not the first to synthesize jazz and hip-hop, Digable Planets epitomized the laid-back charm of jazz hipsters better than any group before or since. Their 1993 debut, "Reachin' A New Refutation of Time and Space" took us on a mellow ride laced with samples from Sonny Rollins and Curtis Mayfield and offered the essential hit, "Rebirth of a Slick: Cool Like Dat". "Cool Like Dat" topped the charts and can still ignite a party fifteen years later. After earning a Grammy Award for "Best New Group", Digable Planets went onto create their best album to date, Blowout Comb. Successfully fusing jazz and hip hop, old school and street, Digable Planets eventually hit a roadblock, and creative differences prompted nearly a decade of solo projects and collaborations for the individual members.

As the ten year anniversary of Blowout Comb approached, the group announced their reunion and promptly recorded Beyond the Spectrum: The Creamy Spy Chronicles. Blue Note released the work in 2005.

Tonight, from New England, we are proud to present an on-stage DJ set from Bootie Boston's resident DJ Lenlow. He'll be joined on stage by his sister, Katie Enlow, Bootie Boston's resident midnight mashup diva. Internationally-known in mashup circles as the go-to vocalist for custom acapella tracks, she'll be joining house band Smash-Up Derby on stage for a couple live mashups as well. In the main room, special guest DJ Boyshapedbox will also be spinning. And in the upstairs room, it's Electro-Bootie, our monthly electro "club-within-a-club" with guest DJ Mr. Anthony.

Launched in 2003, Bootie was the first club night in the United States dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with monthly parties in seven cities on two continents. Mixing and matching every conceivable musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party where everyone feels welcome, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- with free mashup CDs given away like candy!

Over the past few years, Imperative Reaction has honed its explosive live performances through extensive touring. The release of their fourth album, As We Fall was a triumphant, cohesive effort from start to finish. Emotionally driven vocals, punchier bass lines, and driving synths masterfully blended to display the growth of this phenomenal young act. Drawing from influences ranging everywhere from AFI and Nine Inch Nails to modern EBM and noise, this album stands as a cathartic dance floor classic.

SITD's bone-crunching beats and apocalyptical electro hymns are brought together in a very energetic live performance. SITD can be counted amongst the most acclaimed electronic projects of the present international club scene.

Aesthetic Perfection breathes new life into EBM. Ranging from pounding Electro beats to melodic IDM textures, their first release, Close to Human explores the depths of what makes you human.
